Here is the full text of the beautiful prayer Pope Benedict prayed at Ground Zero on
Sunday, April 20, 2008:

"O God of love, compassion, and healing, look on us, people of many different faiths and traditions, who gather today at this site, the scene of incredible violence and pain.

We ask you in your goodness to give eternal light and peace to all who died here - the heroic first responders: our firefighters, police officers, emergency service workers, and Port Authority personnel, along with all the innocent men and women who were victims of this tragedy simply because their work or service brought them here on September 11, 2001.

We ask you, in your compassion to bring healing to those who, because of their presence here that day, suffer from injuries and illness.

Heal, too, the pain of still-grieving families and all who lost loved ones in this tragedy. Give them strength to continue their lives with courage and hope.

We are mindful as well of those who suffered death, injury, and loss on the same day at the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Our hearts are one with theirs as our prayer embraces their pain and suffering.

God of peace, bring your peace to our violent world: peace in the hearts of all men and women and peace among the nations of the Earth.

Turn to your way of love those whose hearts and minds are consumed with hatred.

God of understanding, overwhelmed by the magnitude of this tragedy, we seek your light and guidance as we confront such terrible events.

Grant that those whose lives were spared may live so that the lives lost here may not have been lost in vain. Comfort and console us, strengthen us in hope, and give us the wisdom and courage to work tirelessly for a world where true peace and love reign among nations and in the hearts of all."

An Easter Message from Our Lay Director, Pat Martucci

Hello and Happy Easter!

Time is flying and Easter Sunday is right around the corner. I hope that you all can experience the Holy Week services in your parishes. They are what makes Easter so real! All the special moments in Christ's life culminate this week; the washing of the apostles feet at the Last
Supper, Adoration of the Cross on Good Friday, along with Stations of the Cross, and of course, the Easter Vigil. If you haven't experienced the Vigil with our new baby Christians, it is something to attend. For me, my faith comes alive when I see the new Christians become Baptized, Confirmed, and receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time. This is what our Catholic Faith is all about; Evangelizing the world one baby Christian at a time. We do the same thing when we "make a friend, be a friend and bring that friend to Christ." We are part of the Easter Vigil. Tony and I want to wish you all a very Holy and Blessed Easter as we pray for you and your families. Please keep our movement in your prayers as we continue to serve
you.

God Bless You All,
DeColores!
Pat

Enhance your study with the following sites providing sounds and sights!
Here are some prayerful sights that include
Podcasts (audio files) and Multimedia:

  • HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Pray As You Go - Daily prayer for your MP3 player, from Jesuit Media Initiatives in London, UK. Pray-as-you-go is not a sermon or a bible-study, but a framework for your own prayer. It combines music, scripture and questions for reflection in a new 10-12 minute prayer session every day.

  • Catholic Insider is a podcast by Father Roderick Vonhögen, Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Utrecht, The Netherlands.

  • Daily Readings is the website for Audio Readings from the official New American Bible and Vatican approved for use in U.S. Catholic parishes.

  • Going Fourth Podcast - The podcast dedicated to the person trying to live out their fourth day, or anyone wanting to know more about someone's experience in the Cursillo Movement. Hosted by George Leite, from the Worcester MA Cursillo community.

  • Life of John Paul II - A celebration of the life of Pope John Paul II, with talks about his life and thought available for download.

  • Praystation Portable - A podcast that offers the Morning and Evening Prayers from the Liturgy of the Hours

  • Rosary Army - A podcast dedicated to the Rosary and Our Mother

  • Sacred Space - The Irish Jesuits invite you to make a 'Sacred Space' in your day, and spend ten minutes, praying as you sit at your computer, with the help of on-screen guidance and scripture chosen specially every day at Sacred Space. Thank you, Sam Bruno for this link.

  • The Bible In A Year - Tune in for a daily reading of the bible.

  • Vatican Radio Podcast - The daily half-hour English program of Vatican Radio with news, interviews, background information and documentaries straight from the Vatican. The Pope's own Podcast!

  • Weekly Roman Observer - Keep up-to-date on the Holy Fathers teachings and the good news of whats happening in the Catholic Church. The Apostolate for Family Consecration invites new guests every week to comment on the highlights of the Holy Fathers weekly newspaper, LOsservatore Romano, the English Edition.

  • Your Daily Tripod - On this site, we will reflect on the Scripture readings from daily Mass and consider how they might move us to Piety, Study and Action. “Your Daily Tripod” is a service of the Fourth Day Committee of the Cursillo Community of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arlington, VA (www.arlingtoncursillo.org).

Prayer of the Cursillista

Lord, help us to use our time, our talents, our lives for the building up of Your Kingdom. Instill courage into our initiatives, good judgment in our choice of the proper means, and that determination which assures success even in times of seeming failures.

Move us above all discourtesy, sensitivities and rivalries, which not only discourage and divide us, but lead us away from loving You and each other. Help each one strive for the gift of Your unselfish love that will embold us to prefer the more humble tasks and rejoice in the good done by others.

Lord, let all see Your attractive goodness marked on all our faces, Your warm accents in all our works and in our community, a unity and a holiness that proclaims Your living presence in our midst. Amen.

St. Paul, Patron of the Cursillo. Pray for us.
