A Meditation
By Dick Andrejack
During the past weekend, several of us listened to a tape in which
the speaker said We need to sit with people in the darkness
in their darkness
and ours.
In the darkness, we close out the unexpected chaos that engulfs us
at this present time. In the darkness, there is a stillness and a quiet where we can open
our hearts to God and listen to His truth and review the reality that exists
as uncomfortable and unwanted as this reality happen to be.
We need to sit and allow ourselves to accept healing, the healing of
God and the healing we receive from each other; the healing that comes from the Spirit of
Jesus in each of us.
The darkness vanishes with dawn, and then healed, we can go forward into the light
grateful for the gift of life! Grateful also for the grace God has put into our lives and
we can be especially thankful for all those loving people that bring His grace to us.
The headlines read 6,333 missing.
Each of us, if we were to compose this list, would place at the top of the list, that
person or persons we love the most. The one we have shared our lives with the person or
persons that made our lives richer in all types of ways. We use our memory to recall them
and their Christ-like qualities, their special love, talent, abilities, their physical
appearance, their voices and mannerisms that made them unique. The holiness and greatness
of the spirit is still with us they can never be missing.
In the Holy Eucharistic celebration, Christs words are This is My
Body
This is My Blood
Do this in Memory of Me.
Our loved ones, while they were here, shared their lives in which they imitated Christ.
They, in spirit, ask us to be remembered, just as Jesus did.
They ask us as Christ did to live life to the fullest, to love God and our neighbor
as ourselves
in our homes, in our workplaces, in our communities in all our
environments. We are asked by Christ and those we loved
Do this in memory of
me.
Neither Jesus nor our loved ones are missing, through their loving examples, through their
lives, we can come to understand Christs promise
I will be with you
always, even to the end of time.
Peace, Dick Andrejack
